Things get tight as winter draws in and we reach halfway!
Most games have so far survived the winter blast and despite some boggy pitches and gusty gales, every game was played for our first week in Decemeber. This gameweek has concluded the first half of the season which has provided some purely brilliant games, with team surely itching to get started on the title & relegation battles that are about to begin.
Burnley Blues & Hurdsfield have both achieved fantastic results this week taking points off hte top 2 and taking them away from the relegation battle. Meanwhile Salford have closed the gap to just 2 points off the top of the table. In Division 2 teams are fighting desperately to put some distance between themselves and the 2 relegation places. Sale Saints will need some big results to claw their way up and out whilst Crusaders, SM Ambassadors & Warrington Ambassadors are all still fighting to stay in the top 2. Unfortunately, the importance of winning and losing was put into perspective this saturday with the sad news that Jon from Warrington Ambassadors suffed a double leg fracture. The league sends our prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. Division 3 is a little more evenly spread, but St Elizabeths look on course to take the top spot dropping only 2 points all season. Division 4 has been entertaining to say the least! Ivy Cosmos have taken maximum points so far and amazingly, second place Bolton have only conceded 3 all season! Manager Richard Cooke has denied reports he is being mentored by Big Sam Alardyce!
